Nada Yoga – the yoga of sound is a deeply relaxing experience.

Nada yoga brings about an inner stillness, and resonates with the chakras and prana (life energy), harmonising body mind and spirit. I use a range of instruments such as Tibetan bowls, chimes, bells, gongs, percussion and sounds from nature.

Benefits from Nada Yoga

Deep relaxation – the parasympathetic system is stimulated.

Stress reduction– calming the nervous system, vibrations quieten the mind, bringing inner stillness and improved concentration and focus

Emotional release– Vibrations can help to release stored emotions or tension, the vibrations can harmonise mood and release negativity.

Improved sleep– promotes restful sleep and can ease insomnia

Physical healing– some people experience reduced pain, lower blood pressure, improved energy

Ensuring that you are comfortable- bring blankets, a pillow if you wish, lie down and totally relax, allowing the vibration to flow through the mind and body. Awaken to feel refreshed, healed and with improved energy flow.

Sound baths are not recommended for the first trimester of pregnancy, for those with epilepsy or seizure disorders, severe mental health issues, psychosis or trauma, pacemakers or implanted medical devices, tinnitus (the sounds can be irritating rather than soothing- but putting fingers in the ears for parts of the session can help), recent surgery or bone fractures (vibrations may cause discomfort in healing tissue), and no alcohol should be consumed before the session.

Sound bath sessions can be complemented with candle gazing, chanting, with meditation, with a shared hand/head massage or story telling.

I offer sound baths at locations in New Mills, Hayfield and Glossop, and at hen dos and birthday celebrations. Prices start at £15 per person.
